Director/VP of Sales for a Packaging and Accessory Importer

Description :

Our client is a leading packaging and accessory importer, designer and distributor in the recreational and medical marijuana space.  They are seeking a VP/Director of Sales to lead their sales team and all aspects of their continued growth. This is a fast-growing company with a steep career trajectory for the right candidate.  The entire sales department will report to this candidate including inside sales, custom sales, and a new outside sales department.

- Develop sales strategies for firm’s growth and expansion initiatives across sales and sales operations

- Lead the firm’s inside sales, outside sales, and customer service teams – currently 30+ members

- Collaborate with the executive team and take on various cross-functional responsibilities, including product assortment, pricing, compensation/commission strategy, operations, technology/CRM, and e-commerce

- Hire, develop, and train staff members

- Lead attendance at industry trade shows and other externally-facing events


- Bachelor’s degree, required – MBA a plus

- 7+ years of sales management, required

- Previous exposure to the marijuana, pharmaceutical, or consumer products, highly desirable

Prior experience in a company with a strong online presence as well as outside B2B sales people very helpful

- Knowledge and experience with sales analytics tools and software

- Experience in both call center management and e-commerce

- Ability to hire, build, and lead high performance teams

- Ability to think strategically in a highly evolving, entrepreneurial environment
