Director of Marketing Analytics for a Large Retailer

Our client is a large, Southern California-based retailer. They are seeking a Director of CRS who will partner with other marketing leaders to help drive database and segmentation efforts. This role will require advanced skills in segmentation, catalog circulation, and predictive analytics. 

This position will work with a high-energy, integrated marketing team that is highly collaborative across all areas of marketing and works hand-in-hand with the category management group. This position is both strategic and hands-on, requiring intensive experience with marketing database and campaign tools along with a skilled interpretation of customer insights and business analysis with a focus on stimulating new sales and increasing customer lifetime value.

Job Responsibilities Include:
 

- Manage the strategy and implementation of the database and monthly mailing programs, with a focus on driving customer engagement, customer LTV, and sustained growth in revenue for the program

- Test and evolve the overall catalog contact strategies across the customer lifecycle for maximum return on ad spend and optimization of media channels
 
- Prioritize and drive a testing and optimization calendar to feed new insights and tactics into the program
 
- Stay on the forefront of targeted database marketing programs including metrics, tactics, subscriber file growth, segmentation, personalization, and scoring capabilities
 
- Proactively produce customer behavior and campaign performance insights, and convert these learnings into actions that deliver meaningful benefit 
 
- Drive the continuous improvement of all customer data capture points (Retail, Web, Media, etc.) to identify new methods that effectively increase customer engagement
 
- Leverage existing marketing database and analytics tools to evolve understanding of the customer and the offers that result in the greatest retention and LTV
 
- Refine and evolve customer segments leveraging predictive LTV, response, and product affinity models
 
- Develop highly collaborative relationships with peers across every business unit, thrive in multi-discipline group settings to drive and refine overall marketing strategy
 
 
Minimum Job Qualifications: 
 
- Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in Marketing, Communications, or Business; MBA desired 
 
- 7+ years in catalog/direct mail circulation, customer segmentation, consumer email marketing and CRM
 
- Proven results growing revenue, LTV, opt-in subscribers, and customer engagement for an established organization with a substantial customer base
 
- Experience managing a team
 
- Analytical thinker with superior knowledge of customer KPIs and ability to relate implications across the business
 
- Expert Excel and PowerPoint skills required; Tableau and other BI tool experience strongly desired
 
- Superior verbal and written communication skills with all levels in an organization
 
- Experience in retail, financial services, or hospitality a plus
 
- Knowledge of RedPoint, Unica, and Salesforce Marketing Cloud (Exact Target) a plus
 
- Ability to thrive and build strong relationships in a highly collaborative, entrepreneurial, and fast-paced work environment
