Director of Marketing Operations for a Large Retailer

Our client is one of the largest tool and equipment retailers in the country. They are seeking a Director of Marketing Operations to lead the company’s marketing analytics and strategy, with a focus on the execution of their various marketing initiatives. This position will be responsible for lead management processes and systems, marketing automation solutions, database management, and reporting and analytics.

This is a hands-on role with a strong emphasis on marketing strategy and analysis. 

The ideal candidate possesses a balanced blend of marketing-savvy strategic thinking, leadership, and operational expertise. This individual has a passion for data, metrics, and reporting, and excels in driving predictability, scalability, and efficiency in operations. 


Job Responsibilities Include:

Manage all marketing operations and systems, including lead management processes and metrics, campaign tracking, marketing automation systems, database management, targeting and segmentation plans, and alignment with sales operations

- Developing and maintaining a multi-year roadmap and strategy that ensures best-in-class marketing

- Actively monitor, analyze and report on the health of marketing contribution to pipeline, program ROI, customer acquisition and penetration, contact acquisition and activity

- Ensure availability and delivery of optimal marketing metrics, including dashboards and reports to measure and track performance of the marketing organization; liaise with company leadership has access to ongoing analysis for marketing investments, pipeline impact and goal setting

- Actively manage database strategy: analyze gaps in data, contact acquisition strategy, and practices that ensure data quality and measure database health

- Manage growing Marketing Operations team, providing mentoring and career development  

- Ensure robust cross-functional coordination and collaboration with supporting parts of the business, including IT/IS, Sales, Sales Operations, CRM and Finance

 

Minimum Job Qualifications:

 - Bachelor's Degree; MBA or MS a plus, but not required 

- 7+ years experience in marketing, at least 4 years of marketing operations experience a focus on lead management processes, marketing systems and analytics

- Proven ability to define and implement strategic vision/direction for marketing operations

- Results-driven with demonstrated ability to analyze quantitative data to drive improvement to program effectiveness, ROI, pipeline/funnel velocity and conversion rates

- Ability to problem-solve, identify critical obstacles and address fundamental systemic and operational issues

- Deep expertise with marketing automation, marketing analytics tools and CRM solutions

- Entrepreneurial team player, collaborator and influencer with proven ability to drive change through ideas

- Ability to think strategically while maintaining critical attention to detail and execution

- Budget management experience and financial analysis skills

- Ability and willingness to be a hands-on leader and mentor

- Desire to be a part of a fast-paced, entrepreneurially-minded team
